The mission of the Friends of Colt Creek State Park is to enhance the use and enjoyment of the Park for the people of Florida and its visitors.
An Update on The Friends Equestrian Campground Pavilion Project:
At the beginning of the year, we set a goal to raise $45,000 to build a pavilion at the Equestrian Campground. We are happy to report that we have reached that goal and hit $50,000!
With the extra funds we are providing two grills and picnic tables for the pavilion! But there’s more exciting news! Construction is beginning next week on the bathroom for the equestrian campground followed by the construction of the pavilion! The building materials have already arrived.
We are very excited about these great new additions to our park and want to thank the 111 contributors to the pavilion project which includes several Horse Clubs that solicited contributions from many of their members.
All the donor names will be permanently displayed on a sign by the pavilion. It’s not too late to get your name included. We have decided to help fund a sidewalk from the pavilion to the restroom AND to purchase more picnic tables to spread around the campground.
If you would like to help us complete our fundraising for these add-ons, please send a tax-deductible contribution to Friends of Colt Creek State Park or FCCSP to PO Box 2655 Lakeland, FL 33806 or drop it off at the ranger station or give online at the link below.
We will keep you updated on the progress and on our official thank you ceremony.
Warmest regards on behalf of the Friends of Colt Creek State Park Board of Directors,
Paula Dockery, President
