Interested in learning about primitive camping? Join us at marker 36 on Saturday, November 30th at 9:00 AM for an introduction to primitive camping and other outdoor skills! We will be hiking 1 mile to the Boots or Saddles primitive campsite while learning to read a trail map, use a compass, and follow trail blazes. At the Boots or Saddles campsite, we will set up a tent, start a fire, and go through other camping essentials before hiking 1 mile back to marker 36. Parking is available at marker 36 or at the Mac Lake parking area (if you park at Mac Lake it is a 0.5 mile walk to marker 36). Space is limited, so reservations are required. RSVP can be made by calling (863)815-6761. It's recommended that you bring water, bug spray, sunscreen, and wear close-toed shoes. Program is free with regular park admission and begins at 9:00 AM and ends at 12:00 PM.
