Join us and our friends from the Lake Region Audubon Society for a morning hike while learning to observe and identify birds followed by a presentation about birds. We'll be meeting at the Great Blue Heron pavilion at 8:00 AM on Saturday, December 21st. The program will last approximately four hours; the first two hours observing and identifying birds in the wild and the second two hours for a presentation about birds and their importance in our ecosystem. You're welcome to bring binoculars and/or a camera. It's recommended that you bring water and wear sunscreen and closed-toed shoes. Program is free with regular park admission.
The Audubon Society is an amazing organization with a long history of protecting birds and the places they need. In 2007, the Audubon Society conducted a yearlong survey at Colt Creek State Park and identified more than 150 species of birds within our park! Join us to learn more!
